Helen HENDEL Obituary
August 2, 1922 - October 30, 2013
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mrs. Helen Hendel at the age of 91 years.
Helen will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Richard (Pat) Chahley, Terry (Elsie) Chahley, Ken (Anne) Chahley, Sharon (Ron) Doll and Barry (Kerry) Hendel, 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Helen will also be missed by her siblings Larry Bordian, Lillian Ashley and Kay Walsh as well as numerous other family members and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Phillip, daughter Gloria, son David, brother Eddie, and sisters Laura, Gerri and Marge.
The family wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Trent Dusang for his compassionate care and to all the staff at the Country Cottage Seniors Residence for their kindness, care and support shown towards both Helen and her family.
Her family will miss her nurturing care and undying love and support. She has brought much happiness and joy to the lives she has touched. Her compassion, kindness generosity and engaging smile and laughter will be missed by all. May she rest in peace.
In keeping with Helen's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the South Side Memorial Chapel, 8310 - 104 Street. Helen will be laid to rest at the Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Sherwood Park.
Donations in memory of Helen may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute.

Dearest Sharon, Barry, Richard, Ken, Terry, Carmen, Paul and Families;
What an incredibly wonderful person my Auntie Helen, your Mom, and Grandmother was. I have so many fond memories of her gentleness, ready laugh, hugs, helpfulness, and sincere care and love for her family and friends.
We are all very blessed by the memory of a courageous woman who went through so much and loved even more.
