Henry Cockrell Jr age 75 of Gary,In passed away May 15,2024 at Northlake Hospital.

Henry was born October 22 1948 in Bellamy, Alabama. Henry accepted Christ at an early age. Henry was A graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1966. He served his country for 16 years in the United States Army and received Honorable discharge in 1982 with the Rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a member of The Freedom house. Wake Saturday June 15,2024 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Funeral 11:00 a.all services at Powell Colman Funeral Home 3200 W. 15th Ave Gary,In.

So many great memories I have about Henry.. keeping the doors open daily an making coffee so the next suffering person had somewhere to go & connect...an to feel safe.. Henry's shoes are gonna be hard to fill..but we thank you for your dedicated service work in Lake County an where ever you were present..rest my dear bro

As a kid we would see Henry coming up to the house and we would take off running and hide under the kitchen table lol. He tortured us trying to make us eat, I can´t remember exactly what, but it was some type of animal we didn´t like lol. That´s a memory that has and will always stick with me Cousin.
