Over the many years we worked together, I knew Hal as a respected colleague and dear friend. Hal was modest man of rock solid integrity. He was also funny, kind, and was a person of great dignity and intellect. There was really nothing that Hal couldn't do. And he was willing to do anything to help a friend or a cause he believed in. He was so curious about so many things in so many areas. His interests spanned instructional technology, vintage planes, remote controlled planes, history and more than I could keep up with. He was a mentor to so many, a delight to be around, and a true friend.
We'll miss him terribly.

Sondra and Scottie,

I'm so sorry to hear of Hal's passing. Hal was a committed community servant. He often did photography for MHS's theatre program of which I am so grateful. i still have one of his photos hanging in my house. On his many times of working with us, he always shared his pride in what Scottie was doing. Our lives were better for having known him.

I have such wonderful memories of Hal and Sandra organizing musicals, teaching Bible studies, and just being the kind, patient, and loving leaders that made church a place we wanted to be. Thank you! I know Hal is enjoying his reward in heaven, and pray God will bless and comfort you, Sandra and Scotty, while you remain behind. With sympathy.

May all the blessings you shared with him and the wonderful memories made together bring you comfort during the days ahead. If there is anything we can do, please let us know. Hal Rice made a quiet yet lasting gift of his time and talent as the official unofficial' photographer of Murray's Playhouse in the Park in its earliest years. A devoted family man, it seemed that Hal, Sondra and Scottie did everything together. The determination and dedication of this gentle and unassuming man opened to him a life well lived. May his memory be a blessing.
