Born January 30, 1913 in Canton, IL, Inez was the fifth daughter of Margaret and Isaac Hubbell, an itinerant coal miner in the area around Peoria. She is survived by her son Charles L. When I was in grade school Butchy moved on Perry Highway near my home. We played together and I was fortunate enough to know his beautiful Mother, Inez. One day we were clearing some weeds at the end of their yard and I accidentally struck her with my weeding tool. I still remember feeling so horrible. Being a 8 year old you can imagine how fabulous it was a to go to
West View Park with Butchy and ride all the rides free. This cute little red head was so much fun. We could get free food but not in the cafeteria. Then one night their house burned down. I could see the flames from my bedroom window. They were fine but moved away never to see Butchy again.. So thrilled he just wrote this new book about the joys of West View Park -- and I was there every year for 20 years enjoying the fun. Remembering your Mom, Butchy and you, for sure. Sweet memories and I know her passing was a heart breaker. I'm sorry -- all these years later...

Dear Grandma Gigi,

As you know, I loved you deeply and felt extremely close to you. You always protected me and I tried to protect you. It is so hard to imagine that I won't be able to see you anymore and see your smile or hold your hand. However, I know that you are happier now and in a better place. I will always have the wonderful memories that we shared. I will look out for Dad and the family and make sure that they are safe, healthy, and happy because in the end that is all that really matters. I know you will miss your little Buddie, and I know you will watch over him and be his Guardian Angel. I hope you will be mine, too. You will always have a special place in my heart and I will always treasure the times we spent together. Love always, Brookie

To the Family and Friends of Mrs. Beares:

My name is George Nowack. I am a hand carver of Carousel animals. I lived and grew-up in Millvale, almost next door to West View Park. My wife, Carolyn, worked at the Park during high school. She was born and raised on the Northside, near Perrysville, where Mr. & Mrs. Beares once lived.

With Mrs Beares' passing, another important chapter in our heritage is consigned to our memories, and to our hearts. She and her late husband brought uncalculated joy to thousands of everyday people. Her effect upon our lives cannot be assessed.
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I, in a small way, express my condolences to you. Rest assured, that the memory of her stretches FAR beyond what you may suppose!

May Heaven grant you solace, and her Eternal Peace.
