Ivor Jones Obituary
Mr Ivor Rhoslyn Jones, known as Rhos, of Longedge Lane, Wingerworth, has died peacfully at home, aged 79. Born at Skewen, near Neath, South Wales, he moved with his family to County Durham in the late 1960s before moving to Wingerworth in 1975. He worked as a coke oven manager for National Smokeless Fuels and a marketing/commercial director for Coal Products Limited before his retirement in 1993. Mr Jones' life revolved around his family and friends. He had enjoyed holidays abroad and latterly in the UK especially back in his native home country of Wales. He leaves widow Barbara, daughters Fen and Verity, sons-in-law Steve and Mark and grandchildren Lewis, Guy, Fergus, Josie and Alistair.The service is due to take place at Chesterfield Crematorium, today,Thursday, November 15, at 2.30pm. Donations in lieu of flowers will go to The British Heart Foundation. Funeral directors: B. Hattersley & Sons Ltd, 211 Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield (tel. 01246 232820).
