J. Crevier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 26, 2011.
OBITUARY J.PHILIPPE CREVIER Deceased accompanied by Angels Wednesday February 23, after a valiant battle with pneumonia, at the LaSalle Hospital. The Family expresses appreciation to all who made his last days peaceful. Honorable mention to Dr. Duong! Born in Lachine, the youngest of 4 children on June 6, 1923, parents Georges-Hylas Crevier and Irene Landry. He is predeceased by elder siblings, Yvette, Benoit, and Jacqueline, and his wife of 49 years Ida Cousineau (1999), and his eldest son Percival (1972). Philippe leaves behind his immediate family; sons Mario and Laurent, Grandchildren, Natasha and Celeste-Louise, and also his Grandchildren-in-Law, Jessey and Noah Bernstein. J-P's Fatherly presence to Klaire Bernstein, Mary Biller, Marie-Louise Lebeau, Nancy Fuoco and Patricia Belanger was remarkable, and he touched each of their lives deeply. After completing his 'Cours Classique' in Rigaud, he eventually embarked on a long and illustrious career with C.G.T.X, that led shortly after his Marriage to Ida in 1950, relocating to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan (56-69) as Superintendant, subsequently to Red Deer, Alberta (69-74). Returning Montreal as Gen. Superintendent and other duties until his well deserved retirement in 1985. He loved his role as Family Patriarch and loves his Grandchildren more than words could aptly depict. He was a devoted Family man and Catholic, praying nightly for those he deemed was his Family, ironically never for himself. J-P requested to be cremated; his remains will be present at J.J. Cardinal located at 2125, Notre Dame, Lachine Quebec H8S 2G5. Visitation to be held on Sunday February 27 between 2 and 5 p.m and and again from 7 to 9 p.m. A Commemorative service will be held on Monday February 28 at 11 a.m. and the Salon doors open at 10 a.m. for those that would like to interact with the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any cause of your choice that promotes learning and education and/or promotes literacy.
