J. Heather Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from Jun. 21 to Jun. 22, 2008.
HEATHER J. Robin, Q.C. January 23, 1933 - June 9, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, Papa, and friend. He is survived by his children Cheryl (Kelly), Ellen (John), Alison (Ken), and Guy; grandchildren Rob (Tanis), Blake, Josh, Ryan, Sean, Stephanie, and Kevin; great-grandson Liam, sisters Jessie, Emily, and June. Dad was predeceased by his wife, Irene (Horner) - who he considered the `most beautiful girl in the world'; parents Guy and Margaret and siblings George and Mary. Robin had many lifelong passions including fishing, waterfowl hunting, gardening and politics. His commitment to "Wetland Conservation" saw him hold distinguished positions as both National Director and Director Emeritus of Ducks Unlimited Canada. He lived his life to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. A graduate of UBC Law School, Robin later moved his family to Prince George where he formed the law partnership Heather, Sadler, Jenkins. There he successfully practiced law until he retired to take care of his wife during her illness. A Memorial Service was held in Prince George, BC on Thursday June 19th at 4 p.m. at Westwood MB Church. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday June 25th at noon at Ocean View Funeral Home - South Mausoleum (4000 Imperial St., Burnaby). Special thanks to Dr. Kim Chi and Nurse Kikine at the Cancer Clinic. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to BC Cancer Foundations System Therapy Dept. Prostate Cancer Research Program or Ducks Unlimited Canada.
