JACOB GUENTER Obituary
August 19, 1921 – October 6, 2013
Jacob G. Guenter was born on August 19, 1921 and passed away on October 6, 2013. He was predeceased by his wife Annie, parents Aron & Helena Guenter, 13 brothers and sisters; daughter Doreen and son Leonard. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He farmed for 40 years and then retired. He and mom lived in Saskatoon and then moved to Warman. After mom passed away dad moved to Bethany Manor. When his health failed he moved to Prairie Spring Care Home. After he retired he took a computer course and spent the next 20 years writing books and stories. He is survived by children Norm (Jeni), Don (Irene), Myrna, Marlene, and Diane; sisters Justina and Susie, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at the Brian King Centre, 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday October 9, 2013. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, 101 – 440 2nd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 9Z9 or Kidney Foundation, of Canada, 1-2217 Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK S7L 9Z9. Interment will be held at the Guenther Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to DALMENY FUNERAL HOME (306-254-2022).

I have many memories of uncle Jake both from my youth and many many since. My deepest regret is not making the time to stop and visit him for so long. My thoughts are with you all today and I know I will have fond memories of your father for many years to come!

Uncle Jake had a wonderful quiet wit, you had to listen carefully to every word. His written works will be there for scholars and family and indeed are also part of his legacy. Thank you for being a friend Uncle Jake.

My deepest sympathies to Jacob's family at this sad time. He was a wonderful neighbour at Bethany and I enjoyed our many visits and our games nights. He was a real gentleman who will be dearly missed.

My deepest sympathies to the Guenter family. I'm thankful that I had a chance to visit Uncle Jake this summer and have many fond memories visiting him on the farm when I was younger. Uncle Jake was such a wonderful man and will be dearly missed.
