Jacob Scott Obituary
Virginia Beach - Jacob Scott, USN(Ret), 86, passed away in his home February 17, 2018. Jacob was born in Auburn, NE to the late Clifford and Bessie King Scott. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Lee Price Scott. Jacob served his country in the United States Navy and retired after 20 years of service as Master Chief. He later retired after 25 years of service with Sears as a technician. Jacob was a former deacon and member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sandy Neff (Ron) and Judy Barrett (Russell); grandchildren, Tiffany King, and her husband, Timothy, Justin Scott-Wilborn, and his wife, Tara, and Jacob Barrett; several great-grandchildren; a nephew, Jerry Scott, and his wife, Kathy; and extended family, Rebecca and Tony Webb, Julia Moats and Linda King.
The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 11 am at the funeral Home with Dr. Eric Thomas officiating. He will be laid to rest at Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach with full military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Kempsville Volunteer Rescue Squad, 5145 Ruritan Ct, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Jake was a great neighbor and special friend for 40 years. He was always there with his warm smile, relaxed nature and eagerness to help with anything. Over the years he treated us to veggies from his garden, helped us with appliance repair and joined in helping out our neighbors And following the loss of his sweet Mary, he continued until the end to share stories of their life together. We will miss him, but know that he is still smiling as he joins Mary in heaven.

Mr Scott was such a nice person. He was like an old easy chair. Just comfortable in the company of anyone. He will be missed, but just think of how much he is enjoying the reunion with his wife! Jacob was such a blessing to my Uncle Robert "Bob" Cartwright. Jacob would visit and even take him to church. Uncle Robert just turned 90 years old in December.
