It has been over a month since my friend passed on...

Jackie Masso was a true friend and mentor to many over the 30 years she committed herself to raising awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving. In the early 1980's, she and Pat were nearly killed by a drunk driver. After months of rehabilitation, Jackie started the Bay Area MADD Chapter__a decision she made while recovering in the hospital. To all of us, who were fortunate enough to cross paths with this powerful woman, she was a most valuable source of inspiration and guidance in raising our awareness to this most serious problem.

The Bay Area communities that Jackie served may not have been aware of the fact they had an angel and a hero in their midst for 30 years. She tirelessly gave of her self in educating and mentoring in schools, jails, prisons, and other settings. When she shared her story about the crash and it's impact on her and family, it left little doubt in one's mind about impact on victims of drunk driving crashes. It is impossible to know how many lives have been saved or spared injury__because somebody remembered not to drink and drive.

I offer my sincerest condolences and prayers to the Masso Family. God bless you all for sharing such a wonderful person with the rest of us.

Jackie was a true joy to be around. Always with a smile on her face and a cheery attitude. She was a treasured member of our Bunco group for years. Her daughter Laura brought her. She always looked forward to our monthly gatherings.
She will be truly missed.❤
