In Loving Memory of James "Jimmy" Abrams


1951 - 2024


It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jimmy. He is survived by his devoted wife, Deanna, his two loving children, Ian and Kaitlin, his caring son-in-law, Anthony, and his cherished grandchildren, Alexander, Westley, and Indiana.

Jimmy was known as a lover of stories, ones that may or may not be true but that you wanted to believe in. He loved books, tv shows, and movies; and he loved telling his own life stories. His stories included things like outrunning wildfires on a one eyed horse named Pete- or maybe it was an old Honda motorcycle, skiing behind his speed boat during a tornado in Oklahoma, grilling hundreds of pounds of meat for any special occasion, dirt bike racing in the desert, and falling from power poles as a lineman, then getting electrocuted and then meeting Eddie Murphy right after his daughter was born. He was well traveled and told many stories of his time spent in South America and the Middle East. Jimmy's love for storytelling transcended mere words; it took you on a journey to the place he was talking about. You were there with him putting up power lines in Venezuela, playing card games in Saudi Arabia hiding from the heat, and partying in Southern California. His storytelling was a wonderful reflection of his zest for life and his ability to infuse every moment with a sense of wonder and excitement.

Jimmy will be remembered for his cooking, his love of fishing, his generosity of spirit, and his "tell it like it is" attitude. To meet Jimmy was to know Jimmy, he wanted to know everyone's story and he never met a stranger. He touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

There will be a celebration of life for Jimmy at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Completely KIDS in his memory.

Forever in our hearts, may Jimmy rest in peace.
