James F. Dunphy, age 88, of Scituate for 43 years, passed away on October 23, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn I. (Scofield) Dunphy after 58 years of marriage. Devoted father of Janice Dunphy and Carol S. Dunphy, both of Scituate, Timothy J. Dunphy of Revere, and Kevin P. Dunphy of Hanover. Grandfather of Sgt. Shane P. Dunphy of Oklahoma. Son of the late James F. and Ann (Rafferty) Dunphy. Brother of the late John Dunphy and Ann Beaudette. Uncle of Kathleen Sorrell of Texas. US Army, WW II. Graduate of Bryant College. Retired Executive, Alexander and Alexander Insurance, Boston. A funeral Mass held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate Harbor. Visiting hours at 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rte. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Scituate. Donations to honor Mr. Dunphy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of MA., 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
