James Hillier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 27, 2025.
James Deming Hillier, born on July 15, 1932, in Sparta, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 92. A proud United States Air Force veteran, James served his country with honor and dedication, exemplifying a lifelong commitment to service and integrity.

An accomplished entrepreneur, James was celebrated for his passion for building and creating. His enthusiasm for life was evident in every endeavor he pursued, from his professional achievements to his personal interests. Known for his love of computers, football and his signature hats that reflected his vibrant personality, James brought energy and joy to those around him.

In his later years, James found a supportive and caring community at the California Veterans Home in Los Angeles. Surrounded by compassionate caregivers and fellow veterans, he experienced comfort, camaraderie, and dignity in his final chapter. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff for their unwavering kindness and support.

James is survived by his long-time companion, Kiana, whom he lovingly referred to as "wife," and his four step-sons: Max, Kyle, Joseph, and Charles. They will carry forward his legacy of perseverance, kindness, and an enduring zest for life. His absence is deeply felt by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in James's memory to the California Veterans Home or a veterans' organization of your choice.

Rest in peace, James Deming Hillier. Your spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing you.
