James Lindley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 20, 2025.
James Blair "Jim" Lindley, age 74, passed away on August 17, 2025, in Edwardsburg, Michigan.

Born on June 12, 1951, Jim was known throughout his life as a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was a man who believed in the value of hard work and service to others-qualities that defined him both personally and professionally. To those who knew him best, Jim was not only a reliable handyman but also someone who could be counted on for support, laughter, and companionship.

Jim is survived by his two sons: Adam (Autumn) Lindley of Edwardsburg, Michigan, and Michael (Carol) Lindley of Decatur, Michigan. He leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Isaac, Dawson, Hayden, Kaiden, Jeffrey, and Evelyn Lindley. His siblings-Craig, Barbara, Caroline, and Catherine-also mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ellen Lindley and Robert Blair Lindley.

Jim's life was deeply rooted in the outdoors. He found joy and peace in nature-whether camping across the scenic landscapes of Michigan or spending quiet mornings hunting or boating. These passions were more than hobbies; they were traditions he shared with family and friends over the years. The lake home became a cherished gathering place where generations came together to celebrate life's moments, big and small. Jim often hosted these gatherings with warmth and generosity that made everyone feel welcome.

His granddaughter once described him as "someone who worked hard for those he loved," a sentiment that captures the essence of who Jim was. Whether fixing something around the house or lending a helping hand to a neighbor or relative, he gave freely of his time and talents.

Jim's legacy lives on through the memories he created with those closest to him-the laughter shared around campfires, the stories told during long boat rides on the lake, and the quiet strength he offered when it mattered most.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on August 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church, 68961 Lake Street

He could fix just about anything. Probably one of the most creative, talented, person I've ever met. Rest in peace Jim. I hope you are surrounded by ice cream, pepsi and Reese's peanut butter cups...
