I worked with Jim at the North Carolina Department of Insurance. I recall his pleasure at commuting from his home in the historic neighborhood of Raleigh, called “Oakwood”, to work, by riding a scooter! Another time my dog barricaded him in his office; which he took in stride, saying he loved all dogs. Thank you, Jim, for being my colleague at work.

I am so sorry for your loss. While I may not have known Jim in his older years, I remember him as a little kid with a lot of spunk and personality. May he be at rest and you find comfort in the memories you hold in your heart.

It was a pleasure meeting James from day 1. I had the pleasure of escorting him to his new station when he started working for NC DOI, and got his email, badge and station set up. I remember practicing the spelling of his last name so I would get everything right, lol. From our initial meeting until I last saw him that infectious smile was a pleasure to see and will be my fondest memory of him. May he rest in peace and may the family find peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim. Both of us being from Pennsylvania (albeit from different parts) we used to have many lively discussions about things in common. He was a wonderful person and I am honored to have known him.

Our deepest sympathy to John, Karen, Johnny, Jeffrey and Jason. Jimmy was a bright light gone far too soon. We had the pleasure of knowing Jimmy for 22 of his 31 years. To know Jimmy was to love him much like all of the Sklencars. I will remember Jimmy as he alway was - the life of the party always looking for the next big adventure. He leaves a beautiful legacy of countless people who love him. If love alone could have kept him here with us he would have lived a very, very long life. Rest in peace beautiful Jimmy until we meet again! With love, The Curry Family
