Jana Sprague Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 12, 2025.
Jana Ellen (Adair) Sprague 71 of Granbury Texas passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday August 6, 2025, in Ft Worth, Texas.

Jana was born on March 1, 1954, in Lincoln, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur (Jerry) and Janice (Koch) Adair. Jana attended school in Waynesville and was a member of the last graduating class from McLean Waynesville Armington (MWA). Following that, she became a licensed cosmetologist and owned her own business.

Jana met the love of her life, Jeff Sprague, in 1972 and later married in 1974. Together, they had three children and relocated to Granbury, Texas in 1987. She found her greatest joy in being a mother and "Woohoo" to her grandchildren-roles she cherished above all else. Her love extended to animals of all kinds, and no matter what hour- you never left her house hungry. She always cooked as if she was feeding an army and was always up for a good laugh. Throughout the years she worked at the school and in the kitchens of several other restaurants, where she not only enjoyed serving others but also treasured the relationships she built along the way. She had sharp wit, strong opinions, a love for sarcastic humor, and a collection of snarky T-shirts to match. She adored shoes almost as much and she loved dogs and birds, which always held a special place in her heart-and she had a special fondness for birdhouses, finding joy in spotting and collecting them.

Survivors include Jeff (Joe Sharp) Sprague of Pottsboro, Texas; children, Justin Sprague, Jerred (Katy) Sprague, Jeffie (Jeremy) Lee all of Granbury Texas; 4 grandchildren: Brynna Wells, Wyatt Wells, Kai Lee and Kasyn Lee; her mother, Janice Adair of Waynesville, Illinois and her sister, Joni (Craig) LaDew of Danvers, Illinois.

She is also survived by many brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, & special cousins.

She was proceeded in death by her grandparents, father, mother and father in-law, as well as aunts, uncles, and special friends.

The family will host a celebration of life on September 6th at Stonewater Church, 911 East US HWY 377, Granbury, Texas at 2:00pm to honor Jana's life and give thanks to the Lord for the years she lived and the many lives she touched along the way. Live streaming option will be available at swclive.com. Although she will be deeply missed, we rejoice knowing she is pain-free and whole in Heaven. Casual attire is welcome-animal shirts or snarky tees are especially fitting in her honor.

Jana was my cousin, born when I was 2, and
we grew up like sisters. She was joyful, kind
and fun ~ and such a pretty girl who even then
loved her shoes! With Jana by my side, I was
never alone. Love to you always Dear Jana,
