Janet Berry Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 23, 2025.
Janet Marie Berry, of Howell, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on February 8, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan. Jan lived a long and meaningful life rooted in love, laughter, and a remarkable sense of joy.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald Berry; the two married December 24th, 1986 in Pinckney, MI.

Jan's unconditional love was a steady presence in the lives of her family and friends-a trait that defined her and drew others. Known for her quick wit, Jan could find fun in any situation. She enjoyed a life of adventure and filled the room with her captivating stories. After 20 years of working at University of Michigan's North Hall as a secretary for the ROTC program, she chose to spend her golden years doing what she loved most; such as reading, cooking, traveling, enjoying wine with friends, and was often found playing euchre at the Hartland Senior Center.

Jan is survived by her devoted daughter, Sharon (Garry) Barker; son-in-law, Tom Flanders; grandchildren, Kenny (Coleen) Kozdron, Jacob (Jessica) Kozdron, Joshua (Hayden) Barker; great grandchildren, Mercedes, Summer, Quinn, Natalie, and Cali. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald Berry; and beloved daughter, Sandy Flanders.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made at the Howell Humane Society and the Hartland Senior Center in Janet's honor.
