Janet Carney D.P.M

Of New York City, formerly of Arlington, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly Monday, July 9th, 2012. She was the devoted mother of Matthew, Christopher and John Mobilia, all of New York and is also survived by her husband Keith Mobilia. She was the loving daughter of Charles and Geraldine Carney of Arlington. Beloved sister of James Carney, of Arlington, Charles E. Carney,Jr. of Arlington, John Carney of Sydney, Australia and Maura Carney of Chicopee. Devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was a loving pet owner of two beautiful golden retrievers, Clover, who passed in 1998 and her current companion, Kirby. Janet was a graduate of Arlington Catholic High School and St. Anselm College. She graduated from Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in 1984 and completed a surgical residency prior to opening her own practice on Staten Island. She practiced podiatric medicine and surgery for many years and was loved by all her patients. She was extremely proud of her alma mater, serving on the St. Anselm's Board of Trustees for several years, and found strength in her deep Catholic faith. Her sons Matthew and Christopher are both recent graduates of St. Anselm College. Her son John is entering his final year at The Fashion Institute of Technology. Janet was a die hard Boston sports fan, not an easy role living in New York. Starting with the Big Bad Bruins in the 70s (her favorite, of course, Bobby Orr) to theIdiots of the 2004 Boston Red Sox. Memories of her watching late night baseball with her boys are precious. The family is thankful to all for their warm condolences and prayers.
