Janet L. Mewhorter

Mewhorter, Janet L. Of Circle Pines, MN, passed away at the age of 87 on Sunday, January 2, 2011 following complications from a stroke. She was born Janet Halverson on Nov 30, 1923 in Owatonna, MN to August and Florence Halverson. Married to Harold "Stub" Goertz in 1943, they raised five children in the Lexington/ Circle Pines area of the Twin Cities. Janet later married Richard Mewhorter, her loving husband of 40 years, who preceded her in death last July. She was a beloved mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother known for her kindness, wit, unshakable sense of humor and devotion to God and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Florence; siblings, Everett Halverson and Evelyn Roberts; and husband, Richard. Janet is survived by her five children, Baron Goertz, Rebecca Noren (Nick Sear), Rockey Goertz (Maggie), Roxann Goertz (Will Repp), Tim Goertz (Patty); as well as her six grandchild- ren, Rockey Goertz Jr., Jillian Noren, Nick Goertz, Nathan Goertz, Addy Ruth, Liles Repp, Claire Repp; and great-grandson, Evan Remy. Janet will also be missed by her brother- in-law, Ron Roberts; sister-in-law, Sister Margaret Mewhorter; as well as her five step children, Stan Mewhorter, Kathleen Pahl, Sharon Carter, Linda Diego, and Cindy Mewhorter and their children and grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 171 Elm Street, Lino Lakes, MN at 11 AM Wednesday, January 5th. Visitation is at 10 AM preceding the service.
