Janie Melsek Obituary
SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla. - Janie Sue Melsek, 54, formerly of McHenry, died Friday, July 23, 2004, from an alligator attack on Sanibel Island, Fla.
She was a landscaper in her own business on Sanibel Island for 20 years. She loved Sanibel Island and keeping it in its original beauty.
Survivors include a daughter, Joy Williams; two brothers, Rod Melsek and Lee Jr. Melsek, both of Florida; an aunt, Bettie Rode of McHenry; and an uncle, Don Wattles of McHenry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Lorraine (Engeln) Melsek.
Cremation was performed.
A celebration of life service will be at a later date.
Memorials to help defray expenses may be made at Bank of the Islands, 1699 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel Island, FL 33957, attention, Janie Melsek Contribution Fund; or to a charity of the donors' choice.
