Jeanette Keen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 26, 2025.
Jeanette Lynn "Jan" Keen (Hunt), 69, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Born on October 26, 1955, in Hillsboro, Oregon, Jan lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep devotion to her family, and a generous spirit that touched everyone she encountered.

A faithful and devoted Christian throughout her life, Jan was closely connected to both Hill Street Church of Christ in Albany, Oregon, and Cape Fear Church of Christ in Fayetteville. Her strong belief in the Lord guided her every step and was evident in the way she lived-supportive, kind-hearted, and always ready to lend a helping hand. She embodied the values of compassion and grace with every interaction.

Jan was a beloved mother to three children: Shannon Sanders (spouse Darrick Sanders) of Albany, Oregon; Travis Keen (spouse Danni); and Cori Kegel (spouse Chris) of North Carolina. Her love for her children was boundless and unwavering. She also cherished her role as grandmother to eight grandchildren-Johnathan, Evan, Emma, Curtis, Everett, Courtney, Cameron, and Syrena Grace-each of whom brought immense joy to her life.

She is also survived by her sister Cheryl Nardi and brother Chris Hunt. As a sister and aunt, Jan offered steadfast support and warmth that made those around her feel deeply loved.

Jan had an infectious passion for life and family. Her generosity knew no bounds; she gave freely of her time, energy, and heart. Known for her loving nature and gentle demeanor, she didn't have a mean-spirited bone in her body. Whether offering words of encouragement or simply being present during difficult times, Jan's presence was a source of comfort to many.

Her favorite place to be-besides surrounded by family-was the beach. The ocean's rhythm mirrored the calm strength with which she approached life: steady, enduring, and full of quiet beauty.

Jan leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness, love, and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing and joy to those who celebrate the life she so beautifully lived.
