Mr. Peterson, was my room mate at AXP at Alfred University and a great friend. I was listening to Dire Straits and remembered Jeff´s love of that band. So I decided to look him up and was saddened about his passing. I can barely believe it. I will always remember his great sense of humor and attending "The Businesman´s Association" in the basement, having beers.

To Dr. Peterson's family, my deepest condolences.
I was a student in the MBA program and I have thought of him so often over the past 12 yrs since graduating. He had such a presence about him and I always looked forward to his class (even though they were the hardest classes I ever had!). I will forever remember him drilling the following into our memories: "So if you win the lottery, who is your first call to? That's right, Dr Peterson!". His tests were impossible and if you had an open book exam you knew you were in trouble. But we all learned so much. I remember one classmate arguing with him over the point deduction on an essay. Dr Peterson responded with "David, I simply expected more from you." I have so many memories of him and each makes me smile and laugh. He pushed each of us to be a better person, to accomplish what we didn't believe we could. He believed in each of us.
He was such a wonderful person. The world needs more people like him. He will be greatly missed.

I'm shocked and unspeakably saddened to hear of this. Jeff was one of the most intelligent individuals I ever had the pleasure to meet. Yet, he was as approachable, fun, and ready to have have a good time as the next person! My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. This is a great loss all that ever knew him. Jeff Peterson - my friend - you will be missed.

I knew Jeff in grad school at Texas A&M. He introduced me to the "Dave" Letterman Show. Ed Pataky, Jeff and I were pretty tight at A&M. We used to give Jeff a hard time because he was not from Texas, you could tell that when he spoke. Jeff helped me immensely in numerous finance and banking classes. We used to play chess and have a few beers at the Dixie Chicken. My condolences to his family. He will be missed. Mike Cullen, Texas A&M Class of '84

Although his tests were difficult and his courses challenged me...he was one of the most intelligent and caring professors I ever encountered. He even helped me get into the MBA program when my GMAT score was too low. He is without a doubt one of the most brilliant minds I've ever encountered. I'm so grateful to have had him as a professor. Deepest condolences. Take care.

My deepest sympathies to Laura and Family during this time of loss.
Dr. Peterson was a big influence on me during my studies at St. Bonaventure. As a new MBA student in his 1994 Finance class, coming in as a Civil Engineer, I was a little apprehensive about Finance, could I handle it? Afterall, Dr. Peterson's class had a reputation of being tough. Dr. Peterson's enthusiasm and love of teaching quickly challenged me and encouraged me to be my best, plus when he learned that I was a graduate engineer, he knew I could handle the levels of math required, pushing me beyond my apprehension to find a joy in mastering the technical sides of finance. I treasure his passion, mentoring, and investment in me and all of us at St. Bonaventure. We all gained so much by having Dr. Peterson as our instructor. Thank You.
Looking back too, I was struck by how periodically and fondly Dr. Peterson would speak of Laura and his admiration for her and her work during our classes.
May God bless you during this difficult time.

Jeff is without a doubt one of the top three influcences on my life. From stepping in as an advisor when Dr. Kirk suddenly passed to building a strong mentorship I owe so much of my professional success to Dr. Peterson's coaching, advice and mentorship. He was tremendously invested in his students and helped form them into great individuals as well as great professionals.
My deepest condolences, prayers and love to Laura and the family during this trying time. God bless and rest in the eternal peace of Christ.

It's hard to put into words the impact that Jeff has had on my life. We met at Alfred U over 25 years ago and he taught me a lot about life and the world. It's an understatement to say he will be missed. His opinions, knowledge, and humor were unique and irreplaceable. Laura, Howard, and the rest of the family, you will be in my prayers through this tough time.

A wonderful teacher, a great mentor, and a good friend. Dr. Peterson was loved and respected by all, he will be greatly missed. The Bonaventure community is diminished by the loss.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the family.
