In Loving Memory of Jeffrey E. Severn

May 6, 1960 - June 25, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce that Jeffrey E. Severn, lovingly known as Jeff, has passed peacefully in his Mount Morris home on June 25, 2025, at the age of 65.

Born on May 6, 1960, Jeff grew up in Otisville and graduated from Lakeville High School in 1977 before moving to Mount Morris to raise his family. A dedicated and talented craftsman he spent over 20 years working as a glazier at Liberty Glass. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail and pride in a job well done.

Jeff had a brilliant mind and a wide range of interests. He loved building and tinkering with computers, casting a line while fishing, and gaming on his PC. He had a knack for fixing anything-whether around the house or under the hood of his truck-and did so with a calm confidence that came from years of experience and natural problem-solving ability.

Those close to Jeff will remember his intelligence, quick wit, and sarcastic sense of humor, which he shared generously.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen Johnston; his brother, Omer Severn; and his parents, Roberta and Harvey Severn.

Jeff's memory lives on through his children: Leisha Montrosse, Corrin Karkoski, James Severn, Christopher Severn, Briann Neumann (Chuck), and Kevin Smith; and his sister Sue Bunting (Chuck). He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jeff was a father, a brother, a friend-and above all, a good man. His presence, wisdom, and laughter will be missed more than words can express.

In line with Jeff's wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember Jeff in your own way-whether by fixing something, dropping a clever joke, or simply spending time with loved ones.

Dear Leisha,
I am so very sorry for the pain you and your family are going through losing your father. If you need an ear to listen to your pain anytime or feel like celebrating some favorite memory you have of him, I am here to listen. Just don't keep it inside or it will fester, believe me. I still remember the first day I met you and what a sweet girl you are, so I am here for you, anytime. (248-622-6770)
My condolences to you and your family and my love to you,
Auntie Jan

Dear Leisha,
Losing your dad is such a difficult process in life. With no funeral arrangements I´d love to set up a time soon to chat, what you´re feeling and processing is vast, immense and difficult. Please know our prayers have been with you, so often the funeral service is for the family that is still here hurting, their loved one is in Heaven on the streets of Gold, Jesus and the loved ones that have gone before him. Please reach out & know that you simply aren´t alone my beautiful friend
