Ashland - Jerry Paul Brashear, 77, died peacefully on July 13, 2022, from COPD at his home in Ashland, OR. Jerry is most remembered for his intellect, good humor, open-heartedness, and devotion to his family.

He was from Cuyahoga Falls, OH, received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Princeton University with magna cum laude and phi beta kappa distinctions. He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Phd in Urban & Regional Planning from the University of Michigan.

For over 45 years Jerry led the development of planning and risk management methodologies. His work drove innovations across several continents and industries, regional critical infrastructure, and most recently cyberspace. He was valued for his big picture comprehension and creativity with rigorous intellectual discipline that helped to make the world better understood, predicted, and managed.

Jerry kept a close eye on national politics, enjoyed international travel, continued learning about art, classical music, world religions, spirituality, and history.

Jerry married Judith Carol Brinkley in December of 1967 and the couple had two daughters, Corbin and Regan. He remarried in 1979 to Pamela Newton and the couple spent 46 devoted years together.

Jerry is survived by wife Pamela Newton, daughter Corbin Brashear, partner Joan Schelz, grandson Zephyr Schelz-Brashear, daughter Regan Brashear, partner Dave Graham-Squire, sister Sue Roselle, husband Tom Roselle; nephew Russell Roselle, his wife Vanessa and daughters Alexandra, Isabella and Annamarie, niece Erin Poe, her husband Lenny and sons Aidan and Ethan.
