We have fond memories of Jerry (Mr. Skackelford) from my days at Cradock High from 1965 - 1970. He was a great teacher as well as a great person. Soft spoken and quiet but when he talked you definitely listened. Our sincere condolences to Linwood and the entire Shackelford family.

Dad, you were the best grandfather to your seven grandkids. You were their biggest fan at ballet performances, musicals, baseball and basketball games, talking about computers and coding and watching swimming events. You were loved so much and still are. We are hurting deeply but know you are shining down on us from Heaven and will always and forever be in our hearts. Loved more than you could ever know. You live on in each one of us. Forever grateful for your love.

Mr. Shackelford was one of the best teachers I had while at Cradock High School.
I ran into him several times over the years at ODU Basketball Games in the VIP room and we had great conversations.

My sincere condolences to Linda and the family of Mr. Shackelford. I was a student at Cradock and Mr. Shackelford was my math teacher. One of my favorite teachers, he was composed at most times but had a wit and humor that he would show occasionally letting you know that learning and life didn't have to be dull. May the Lord give you peace during this time of sorrow.
