Jerry Wegman Obituary
He was born in New Haven Township to parents Edwin and Lillian (Tillotson) Wegman. He attended rural Bush grade school, which his parents purchased after it was closed and made into their home.
He graduated from Pine Island High School. He lived in St. Paul and Springfield, Mo., before moving to Tampa in 1972
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and member of Incarnation Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol Wegman, son, Richard Wegman, and daughter, Cari McGarr, of Tampa; grandchildren, Ty and Ryan Wegman and Taylor and Kalina McGarr; and great-grandchildren, Aurilus, Rylan and Molly Wegman. He is also survived by brothers, Stanley (Barbara) Wegman, of Pine Island, Donald (Gloria) Wegman, of Fremont, Neb., and Clarence (Marlys) Wegman, of Inver Grove; and sister, Barbara Lichtblau, of Mazeppa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Lillian Wegman; four sisters, Marilyn (Art) McCray, Ramona Wegman, Lorraine (Miller) Ness and Carolyn (Delmar) Eberhardt; and special family friend, Conrad Stanfield.
Jerry leaves loving memories to all who knew him and will be missed in our families. There will be a graveside service of inurnment at Center Grove Cemetery in Douglas on May 21 at 11 a.m. for family and friends. It will be followed by a gathering at Pool & Pins in Pine Island.

Many thoughts and prayers for the Wegman and McGarr family. Every time I called or walked into your home over the last 35 years, Jerry made me feel like part of his family. With every word he spoke regardless of who or what it was concerning, I knew he cared deeply. "Mr. Wegman" will never be forgotten. I loved him and I love you all.
