JoAnn Ussery of Greenville, Texas passed away on December 14, 2022 at the age of 91. She was born on November 27, 1931 to G.W. and Ethel (Airhart) Richardson in McKinney, Texas. JoAnn was a graduate of the original McKinney Boyd High School. She married L.C. Ussery on June 3, 1950 in McKinney, Texas. JoAnn was a preschool teacher at First Baptist Church, McKinney, for many years. She was a gospel music enthusiast, going to as many Southern Gospel concerts as she could. She is survived by her children, Sherry Ramsey and Roger of McKinney, Texas, Donald Ussery and Lee of Greenville, Texas, and Kenneth Ussery and Teri of Bonham, Texas; sister, Lucille McGrane of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Brittany Kuhlman and Tyler of Anna, Texas, Michael Ussery of Greenville, Texas, Mindy Justice and Jason of Clayton, North Carolina, Brandon Dowell of Princeton, Brett Dowell and Sarah of Roanoke, Texas, Maegan VanSteenburg and Blake of Mauritius, Lauren Ussery and Nick of Los Angeles, and Joshua Ussery of Norman, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Leona Kuhlman, Katie Ussery, Malachi Meigs, Noah Meigs, Tristan Justice, and Levi VanSteenburg; and a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Ussery; son, Marvin Ussery; siblings, Glen Richardson, Joe Richardson, Grady Richardson, Estalene McWhorter; and her parents. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2022 at First Baptist Church of McKinney. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of First Baptist Church.
