John Hickman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 8, 2025.
John W. Hickman Jr., born on June 10, 1975, in Camden, New Jersey, passed away on October 27, 2024, at Pavilion Hospital (Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania) in Pennsylvania. He was 49 years old.

John was a proud graduate of Williamstown High School, where he completed his studies in 1993. Throughout his life, he found joy in the simple pleasures and cherished moments with those closest to him. His greatest pride and joy were his four children: Ashlee Hutchinson, Kyle Hickman, Payge Hickman, and Bayleigh Hickman. He is also survived by his loving mother, Grace Dilts, and his devoted fiancée, Cathy Porubsky.

John had a passion for many things that brought him happiness. He loved watching horror movies-especially those featuring Michael Myers from the "Halloween" series-and had a deep appreciation for cars. Summers spent by swimming pools and enjoying hot weather were among his favorite times. He also delighted in indulging in Cotton Candy-flavored Rita's Italian Ice and Panzarottis. Above all else, John treasured the time he spent with his children, friends, and fiancée.

John's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him best. May his love for life and the joy he brought to others bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.

Oct 27, 2024 was the worst day of my life. I lost my soul mate, my true love, my partner in crime.... my weirdo. This is not what our life was supposed to be... I miss you so much every day.... There is a hole in my heart that will never be filled, my love for you will never die. For now I will continue to live my life to the fullest, and when it's my time, I know you will be there.... waiting for me, with open arms. I love you always....

My first memory of John my big brother was of him putting me in my toy chest and then sitting on it and not letting me out it was his way of being a big brother and playing with me he was always making sure that I was tough that I stood up for myself it took me a long time to realize that I used to just think he was being mean and picking on his baby sister but he was teaching me skills that I realized later in life he was the best big brother a girl could ask for and I'm going to miss him so much and I love him so much and since I'm taller than him I always refer to him as my little big brother
