John was one of the few first people I met when I moved here after college and we became friends. He was funny. He has a good heart and he cared about his friends and will stand up for his friends. He has his openion on things and we don't always agreed on everything and I had to learn to know his sense of humor. He loved to tell jokes and when he did, he had such a child like smile on his face and it just made me laugh no matter if I understood the joke or not. The story about their first dog Zip always made John laugh and me too. I have many found memories of John, our conversations, laughing at all the new and funny things John discovered. He was a kind man under his tough exterior. He was a special friend. I will miss him. Life brings special people and he was one of mine in my journey.

Deepest sympathy to the family. The loving-kindness of God can sustain you through this very difficult time and in the days ahead. Please be assured of the passage in Psalm 36 verse 7, " How precious your loyal love is, O God! In the shadow of your wings, the sons of men take refuge."
