John P. Krupinski, 83, of the Bellevue section of Scranton, died Tuesday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton emergency room.

Born April 4, 1930, in Scranton, son of the late John and Catherine Havrilko Krupinski, he was a graduate of West Scranton High School, where he was a football letterman. He was a lifelong member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, its choir and fundraising committee and former manager for American Ukrainian Veterans Association. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and worked as a deliveryman for the Globe Store and Scavone Floral and was recently working for Northeast Transit as a school van driver. "Krup," as he was known to many, was a kind and generous man whose life revolved around his church, his nephew Stan, his church family and his love of sports. He was a fan of the Phillies, the Red Barons, the RailRiders and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He also enjoyed classical music and opera. He will be remembered as a loyal and generous friend to many.

Surviving are a nephew, Stanley Krupinski Jr., with whom he resided; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Stanley, Kazmer, Peter and Michael Krupinski.

The funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Ave., Scranton, with Divine Liturgy at 10 in St. Vladimir Church, by the Rev. Myron Myronyuk, pastor. Interment with military honors, parish cemetery.

Friends may call Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. Panachida services, 7:30. Memorials may be made to St. Vladimir Church, 430 N. Seventh Ave., Scranton, PA 18503. Condolences: www.chomkofuneralhome.com.

Goodbye John, it was indeed a joyful pleasure knowing, talking and joking with you, Stanley and Sue during the many times visiting your family's house and yard on Meridian St. We all who knew you will miss your indepth knowledge of classical music, opera, sports, politics and social matters.
