John Schrader Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 30, 2010.
John Martin Schrader
John Martin Schrader was born on April 15, 1959. He was tragically taken from us on November 22, 2010. John was born in Oregon City, Oregon. He was third child of John and Betty Schrader. He attended local school in Canby, Oregon and graduated from Canby High in 1977. During high school, John was involved in FFA and developed his lifelong interest in photography. After moving to Orange County, he met his wife, Susan, on a blind date on New Years Eve, 1985. They married in March of 1988. They welcomed the couples only child together, Miranda, in 1994. This would be one of John's proudest accomplishments. He was a wonderful father to his little girl. After years of living in Orange County the family moved to Santa Maria, his wife's hometown. Here he was close to his extended family. John was an avid golfer and a huge Angel's baseball fan. He enjoyed riding his Harley and playing with his dog, Roxy. He could fix anything and was always prepared with a joke. He was a wonderful host and would always make sure his company was comfortable. He would never hesitate to lend a hand and help someone. John was a member of Santa Maria Elks Lodge, #1538. In the short time he lived in Santa Maria, John made many friends and touched many lives. John is survived by his wife of 22 years Susan Schrader and daughter Miranda Schrader, both of Santa Maria, sons Darren Schrader of Oregon and Scott Hedrick of Irvine, CA, grandchildren Wesley Hedrick and Alexandria Schrader, Mother Betty Schrader, Brother Jeff Schrader and Sisters: Teresa, Cindy, Ruth, Cheryl, and Linda all of Oregon. John is also survived by his In-laws: Joe and Joanne Herrmann, Gerald and Sharon Domingues, David Herrmann and Brian Herrmann. He was preceded in death by his father John Junior Schrader.

I know that these anniversaries are so difficult. I was glad to see the photograph of John come up in my e mail. He appears to have had a very happy life, filled with the love of family. Thinking of all of you. He was a member of my graduating class at Canby High School.

I am an old classmate of John's from Canby, Oregon and am deeply saddened by his tragic passing. Just wanted to his family to know how much his friends in Canby will miss him and how thankful we are to have known him.

John was a classmate of mine. I remember his sandy blonde hair, his quiet nature (in high school), and that he seemed to really enjoy his journalism class...he had some really close friends, and loved hanging with the guys...He was a kind person.
