My dear family: John was the quintessential big brother. John always gave me advice, threats and love when we were growing up on Mount Washington. He urged us to do our best and if you lost, he made sure you took home a lesson or two. There is not enough room on the entire Internet for me to list his qualities, his goodness. His family was first and foremost. That is only one of the lessons he left us, the legacy of a good man who I am proud to call my big brother.

Our deepest sympathies for the loss of your beloved husband and father.
My parents (Andy and Tilda Merola) would often run into John at neighborhood stores and he always stopped to chat a while with them. He always had a smile. My brother would see him at the car wash on Rodi Road.
Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. May God ease your pain through this difficult time and may you feel his loving arms around you.

I will always remember John as a fun person who loved to tell stories. Who loved his family deeply. I will never ever forget his visit to see us here in the UK with Bev and his rowing skills on the river at Henley we laughed so much that day and thats how I want to remember him. A light has gone out in the world with his passing.

Please allow me to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of Mr. Sterling. He was truly a beautiful person. I believe it was a truly a blessing to me and my family to have known him . We will miss John dearly. My son James has taken his passing particularly hard, I had no ideal that he felt so strongly about his relationship with Mr.Sterling. That let me know that he was a great man to have the ability to connect with a child with kind word and encouragement. We want your family to know that we really cared about John and know that living here will not be the same. Mrs. Sterling may GOD bless you and give you his peace and strenght during this time.

I just want you all to know that my love and prayers are with you all. Hold the memories and know that when you are sad, look again in your hearts, and you shall see the truth to your sadness for that which has been your true delight. Life in abundance comes through with great love.

The passing of a love one leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal. ~From a headstone in Ireland

Love you all! Liz
