I am so sorry for your loss . Although your hearts are filled with pain and sorrow , my prayer is that you gain comfort and hope from God's promise to reunite us with loved ones on the earth , never having to say goodbye again . For Jesus will make this a problem-free paradise that his Father intended it to be . I have gained comfort and strength from this promise , may your family do the same .

To my friends Patty and Tommy: Can't imagine the pain of losing a child. No words are sufficient. It must be some comfort to read all the kind words of those who loved your son and held him dear. And a special comfort to know that he rests in the arms of our Lord and Savior. Just know I saw this and am praying for you and your family. Karen Mack Harris AHS Class of 1968.

Tommy, I remember the days we use to work together at Gingiss and you always had a smile on your face. Our heart is broken for the family. Tommy was a sweet, kindhearted sort of fellow. We will be praying for God to wrap His loving arms around his family and fill them with mercy and peace.

Tommy, that call from you a year and a half ago meant so much to me. I loved hearing from you after all those years ago at Gunn Junior High. Yes, that trip to Washington D. C. was special indeed. Thinking of you as a young teenager playing in my band gives me a great big smile, and the time we had together a year ago when you were in the hospital was even more meaningful. Only this time I played for you. You asked for me to play a special hymn for you when this time came: "It is well with my Soul". I will be unable to come to the service since I am en route to West Virginia. Instead I'll play that hymn for you in Tennessee. As you told me earlier you'll be listening from heaven, so it doesn't really matter where I am.
You will always be in my memory. You were indeed a very special person, warm and caring, funny and engaging, interested in so many things. I'm glad you were a part of my life.

Tommy, I know you are in a better place, smiling down at us. I'll miss your laughter and jokes. I will always think of you when I hear certain songs on the radio that remind me of those high school days. I'll always think of you when I order a vanilla Dr. Pepper from Sonic, as you are the one who introduced me to those. I'll never forget your smile. Your kindness and support, despite your own struggles, really helped me through one of hte toughest times of my life. I'll never forget you. In my heart forever.

Tommy, we will love you and miss you forever. I bet you haven't stopped laughing and talking since you got to heaven. I'm grateful to God for taking away your pain and sorrow. Uncle Phil and I are so proud to call you our nephew. We have always wanted the best for you and God has answered our hope. Thanks for all the sunshine, laughter, and bull in a china shop you provided for us for 44 years. Love you forever.

To the boy who threw a crumbled piece of paper at my head in Geometry class our Sophomore year in High School. Yes, that is how you asked me to Homecoming!! :)
Although we lost contact for many years after we graduated, we reconnected through the great social media vice called Facebook. Over the last several years we talked, texted and bantered back and forth over the Internet. I was glad we reconnected. Most of our conversations included talking about your illness, your love for your family, your dogs and of course JJ Watt!
I know that you are at peace now and I hope that you are enjoying that heavy metal music that you always loved, that you have reconnected with some relatives and friends and that hopefully you are looking down on all of us smiling.
Take care my friend! Thank you for the memories.
