Jose Sanjurjo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 31, 2022.
Jose Manuel Sanjurjo
1937-2022

Was born on March 13,1937 in a small town in France to Manuel Sanjurjo and Ermitas Navairas both from Ferrol, Spain. He would at age five travel on a ship across the Atlantic in 1941 during WWII with his mom and two sisters to an island paradise (Cuba) were he would find his soulmate and be introduced to Cuban food and music.

In early 1960 he left the island and made his way to Los Angeles California with a few stops in route. Once he got to LA he married his soulmate Acelia Niebla over the phone and later married her at La Placita church on Olivera Street.

In Los Angeles they had four boys, bought a house and made a great life for all. When he passed away on October 4, 2022, it was in the home he bought with his soulmate by his side and his grandson Cory Sanjurjo. He currently has 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Jose was loving, hardworking and always willing to help others.

On November 4th at Queen of Heaven Mortuary

We will celebrate Jose and share his stories between family and friends. He may have departed the living world but a part of him lives in all of his family. He is and will always be our Papa, Abuelo y Gallego.

Papa we love you and miss you and will see you again one day!
