Jose Vasquez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 6, 2021.
Jose (Joe) R. Vasquez 87 of Fort Worth went home to be with the Lord Monday January 4, 2021. He was born in Weslaco Texas July 4th 1933. After moving to Chicago in 1951 he met and married the Love of his life the former Otila (Tillie) Lopez on July 19th 1952 in Lansing Illinois. Together they raised 6 children. In 1968 Joe moved his family to Fort Worth in order to better position his family in an area that he viewed as stable and family oriented. He was a resident of Fort Worth for over 52 years.
Joe had a successful career as a machinist supervisor in Illinois and later in Texas. In 1971 Joe went to work for MAPSCO machining in Fort Worth and retired after 27 years of service in 1998.
Joe was a member of Temple John 3:16 church for over 30 years but recently had been attending Iglesia Cristiana Semilla de Esperanza church.
Joe was a handyman extraordinaire and a problem solver. His family will remember him as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin, and friend. His kindness, giving spirit, sense of humor, and ingenuity made an impression on everyone he knew. He will forever be remembered as an inventor of solutions to problems that came up on a day to day basis, always looking for a better and easier way to complete a project.
Joe will be deeply missed as the Patriarch of this family. Joe was proud of his 6 children, 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He will be missed tremendously and will leave a void in our family forever.
Joe was proceeded in death by his parents Cruz and Irene (Fox) Vasquez, 1 sister Lile, and 4 brothers Domingo, Efren, Noe, and Cruz Jr.
Joe is survived by his wife of 68 years Otila (Tillie) Vasquez, his children Tillie Galdeen (George), Ralph Vasquez (Roberta), Liz Salazar (Martin), Sylvia Monsivais (Mario), Don Vasquez (Charlene) and Darin Vasquez.
