I was deeply saddened to hear of Joe's untimely death.I will always remember having the pleasure of being the disc jockey at a few of his family "Pig Roasts" Joe really knew how to throw a helluva party!!! This may sound wierd, but Joe always asked me to play his favorite song first, before any other. That song was"Prop Me Up Beside The JukeBox When I Die".Joanne,Jimmy and Cindy, your dad was a special man. I will miss his hearty laugh, his horsehoe pitching with perfection, and the good times we spent together. I will never forget Glenny ( Leadfoot) tearing through the farm in #56 that one year. Rest In Peace, "BIG JOE".My condolences to the entire Beck family, especially Nancy,Joanne,Jimmy, and Cindy.
There is a special place in heaven for men like him. From a fellow firefighter, and friend, May God Bless You and Keep you by his side.

I was truly shocked to hear of the tragic accident that took the life of "Big Joe". My fondest memories of Joe were the "Pig Roasts" at the farm where I had the pleasure of being the disc jockey.Growing up in the same neighborhood and going to school with Joanne, Jimmy and Cindy, Joe's untimely death truly touched me. It is kind of wierd to say this, but the first song Joe always wanted to hear when I was playing music was Joe Diffie's "Prop me up beside the Jukebox when I Die" Joe,I will always remember your good times and laughter, and Glenny "Leadfoot" racing around the farm( TEAM #56 ). My condolences to the Beck family,Nancy, and all that I know and have met at the Pig roasts.Joanne,Jimmy, and Cindy, your dad will always hold a special place in my heart. Smitty

I didn't know Joe, but my husband was a fellow truck driver and a friend of his. He often talked about Joe, so I feel like I know him. I know my husband will miss him and many of the guys from PVO. We are truly sorry for your loss.

What can I say guys....he was a ball, and I will miss him being around especially at the picnics for his words of wisdom and his water battles! (which he was very good at, i still carry battle scars).
But I loved him to as the father figure. You know if you ever need anything durning this time, or anytime, me and Red are a phone call away.... Much love to you all, and you know he is in good hands now and having water battles with my mom!
God bless.
Sheryl, Red, Amanda and Uncle.
