Joseph Michael Pedrotti
May 10, 1999 - April 2, 2021
Fairway, Kansas - Joseph Michael Pedrotti, 21, of Fairway, KS passed away unexpectedly from a tragic accident on Good Friday, April 2, 2021. He is the loving son of Marc and Angie Pedrotti. He was born in Kansas City, MO on May 10, 1999. Joe attended St. Agnes Grade School, graduated from Bishop Miege High School in 2017 and was a senior at the University of Missouri studying Mechanical Engineering.
At Bishop Miege, Joe was a 5-time state champion student-athlete (3 – Football, 2 – Basketball). At Mizzou, Joe was a Dean's High Honor roll student and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity where he represented his chapter at the Horizons Leadership Summit. Joe was awarded many scholarships at MU for his leadership and academic excellence including the Josh Seidel Scholarship, 2020 Builder's Association Scholarship, Engineers Club of Kansas City, and Dave Wollersheim Scholarship. During his college summers, Joe interned at WaterOne and Black & Veatch in the Water Division.
No one is perfect, but Joe was about as close to perfect a person can be. Joe was always loving, kind, humble, patient, self-assured, funny and hardworking. Many of us find it easy to do the right thing when others are watching; however, Joe was the person who did the right thing when no one was watching. He loved his friends and cherished all the time he spent with them.
Joe had a tremendous sense of adventure and was game for anything. He loved to travel especially on vacations to Isle of Palms, SC, skiing in Colorado, time at the Lake of the Ozarks, and Lake Viking. He treasured football road trips, MU football and basketball games, the Chiefs and Royals.
Joe was the biggest fan of his younger siblings, always following them and extremely proud of their accomplishments. Joe touched many lives in his short time on this Earth. Even in death, Joe continues to give through his unselfish decision to be an organ donor. We continue to pray for the health of the four individuals who received his organs.
Joe is preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Moritz and uncle, Michael Pedrotti. Joe is survived by his parents, Marc and Angie Pedrotti, his siblings Sam, Jon and Kate, his grandparents Dick and Maureen Pedrotti and Suzanne Moritz. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be as follows: Visitation 5:30 – 7:30pm April 8 at Bishop Miege High School. Funeral Mass will be at 10am April 9 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5250 Mission Rd, Roeland Park, KS. Please use this link for those who are unable to attend, https://youtu.be/V5Fj57UypLg In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Joseph Michael Pedrotti STEM Scholarship at Bishop Miege High School https://securelb.imodules.com/s/100/redesign/index.aspx?sid=100&gid=1&pgid=2554&cid=6480 or to LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services at https://donate.giving.ufhealth.org/give/244714/#!/donation/checkout. Dear Marc & Angie, Dick & Maureen - my deepest condolences on the loss of your son / grandson Joe. I did not have the privilege of meeting him in this life, but I am very much looking forward to meeting him soon ("in the blink of an eye" as the Apostle Paul describes it) and joining him at that banquet table Jesus went to prepare for us. Until then, I pray that God will continue to comfort you, your extended family, and all those Joe touched during his brief, but well lived life.

We are so sorry for your loss. I learned of your son´s passing through Yahoo and don´t know Joseph or the family personally. I do know that your son´s organ donation makes a tremendous difference in the recipients´ lives and families. I know because my son is a kidney recipient. Although bittersweet, we (recipient and family members) are FOREVER grateful to families such as yours!! Take comfort in knowing that Joseph will always be remembered each and every blessed day! I´m sure he brought many beautiful memories to his family and friends, and I´m sure that he will bring many more to the individuals that were blessed to receive his gift of life. God bless!!

To the Pedrotti and Moritz families:
We wish to express our heartfelt condolences for the loss of Joe. Your friendship, love and support over the years, especially during the most difficult moments in our lives, has been a true blessing to us. Dad Gladbach recently reminded all of us that the true character of a person can most easily and profoundly be measured by the kind of people one decides to surround themselves with. Based on our observations over the past few days, it is apparent to us that: Joe is gold. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Alumni of Sigma Chi, University of Missouri

April 9, 2021

Sigma Chi at The University of Missouri has a profound sadness and sense of loss for the death of our Brother, Joseph Pedrotti.
Every several years a new Brother joins our Bond who clearly has a superior intellect, loyalty, and love for his Brothers that stands out.
Joe was one of those.
During his time as an undergraduate, Joe was an outstanding Chapter leader. He demonstrated the values of our Fraternity in a way that made his Brothers want to follow.
Joe´s responsibilities were not always easy. Several years ago, at a time of Chapter unrest, some undergraduate members elected to leave the House for more comfortable quarters. Joe elected to stay and was the leader of the group who put the welfare of Sigma Chi above personal interest.
For this loyalty he will be long remembered.
Joe´s future in Sigma Chi, which he loved, was very bright. While we have lost his personal presence, we have comfort in knowing that his spirit carries on with friendship to his Brothers and loyalty to Sigma Chi.

Marc and Angie, we are so incredibly sorry for your loss, our hearts break for you and your family. Joe was a great friend and pledge brother to our son Nikko, who describes Joe as "literally the nicest guy I´ve ever known", a sentiment that seems to be common to all who who knew him. What an amazing tribute to the person your son was, and I´m thankful that Nikko had him in his life. May the knowledge that Joe had such a profound impact on others bring you some comfort. God bless you all, you are in our prayers.

Angie and Marc, I am so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, I didn´t get the pleasure of knowing Joe well, but my boys, who were Sigma Chi´s with him, said he was "literally the nicest guy they´ve ever met." May your memories of Joe and the promises of heaven lift you up and bring you peace and comfort.

With sacred circle broken
We come, O comrades dear,
To lay the parting token
Upon our Brother´s bier.
We give, in our last greeting,
Sweet roses as a sign;
Tho´ earthly love is fleeting,
Its spirit is divine.

Go, then, dear brother, bearing
Their fragrance to thy rest:
The cross fraternal wearing
Upon thy peaceful breast;
And, though the roses perish,
The jewel´s luster die,
Our hearts shall ever cherish
Thy place in Sigma Chi.

By thought of thee made tender,
By thine example good,
We´ll strive to win the splendor
Of perfect brotherhood.
Till, whether in the heaven,
Or earth, made heaven-sweet,
The stars again are seven,
The circle is complete.
