Joshua Harrop Obituary
He was born on March 26, 1988, in Alton, the son of Kent D. Harrop and his wife Donna of Meadowbrook and Kelly A. (Odle) Martin and her husband Rev. Sam of Alton.
He married Michelle (Greco) on March 15, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. She survives.
Josh was a member of the Boy's and Girls Club in Bethalto since he was very young. He was a graduate of Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto where he enjoyed Wresting, Football and Baseball. He was attending Lewis and Clark Community College where he was studying criminal law. He had just started working at Tab Auto Body in Granite City. Prior to that he was employed at 62 sports in Roxana and the Meadowbrook Water District.
He attended Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, swimming, going out on their boat, sports, remodeling houses and playing on his softball team, which Kinzels Florist sponsored and loved to spend time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife; parents; one brother and sister-in-law, Randall and Melissa Harrop of East Alton; two sisters and their companions, Veronica Harrop and Ryan Erwin of Cottage Hills and Abigail Harrop and Ryan Smith of Alton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Dana Greco of Holiday Shores; a nephew, Logan two nieces, Khelienah and Myleigh; one step brother, Paul Martin of Portage, Wisc.; two step sisters, Heather Wood of Champaign and Faith Martin of Chicago; paternal grandparents John and Margaret Harrop of Meadowbrook; maternal grandmother, Lois Zimmerman of Wood River; paternal step grandmother, Donna Coonrod of Greenfield; maternal step grandparents, Rev. Sam Sr. and Maxine Martin of Ore city, Texas; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kristel and Sean Hagan of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers-in-law, Tony and Daniel Greco of Holiday Shores; and several uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Edward Odle and step paternal grandfather, Curtis Coonrod.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, with Pastor Mark Hofferber officiating.
Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.

I got the privelage of being very close to Josh in high school. He was like a brother to me. We went through a lot together and I am eternally greatful that we got to spend the time together that we did. My heart goes out to his family and Wife Michelle. Josh was a great guy and will be missed by all. Can't wait to see you again one day buddy

I believe Heaven is what YOU enjoyed most in life on earth. I imagine my Heaven will be endless fields of flowers with all my family memebers who have gone before me. I will always remember the first time I met Josh as Michelle's boyfriend. He sure had a head full of curly hair. I will also remember the love you two shared and working on your wedding invitations. I was so proud of both of you as you worked on your invitations. Josh, you made Michelle so happy.

I am Josh's mom and I really can't even imagine life without him. He had grown into an amazing man with such a big heart and has left such a deep hole in my heart with his passing. My condolences man. My dad lost both of his brothers and It was the hardest time of his life. I was to young to get the impact of what life really ment but growing up having two brothers of my own i can empathize but never know how much it hurts. I went to school with Joshua since day 1 in kindergarten at Meadowbrook Elementary. Everyone will miss him greatly, but he will NEVER be forgotten. My deepest sympathy goes out to his parents, his wife Michelle, his siblings Randy and Abby, and to the rest of the family.
