Joshua Lopes Obituary
He is the beloved son of Ronalda D. Hendricks and Robert O. Sargent of Falmouth and John G. Lopes Sr. and Shannon Lopes of Centerville.
Joshua was born on Feb. 5, 1991, in Falmouth and lived his entire life on Cape Cod. He attended both Cape Cod Tech and Falmouth High School, the latter of which he was set to graduate in a few short weeks. In school, he was known for his athletic prowess, enjoying ultimate frisbee, basketball, soccer and skateboarding.
Most notably, Joshua was known for his upbeat attitude and his infectious smile. Above all, Joshua loved his family and his people as a member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.
He is survived by a large extended family, including eight proud brothers, Johnathan, Issac, Damien, John Jr., twin Matthew, Kendall, Tucker and Robert; a nephew, Julian; and four adoring sisters, Tiana, Summer, Nicole, and Taylor. He also leaves behind grandparents, June Tiexeira and George Green, Domingo P. Jr. and Janet Tiexeira; and great-grandmother, Irene Rose of Abington, and the late Gerald C. and Anna T. Lopes of Providence, R.I. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours will be in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road (Route 28), Marstons Mills, on Thursday, April 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday, at 10 a.m., in the Old Indian Cemetery, Mashpee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joshua's name may be made to c/o Citizens Bank, Mashpee.

Ronalda, I work at CCH with you and we have had several conversations about working the "night shift". I just found out about your son Joshua and want to extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family. And especially to Joshua's twin, Matthew. I believe the only tie stronger than a mother and her child is the bond a twin has for his "other half" I lost my twin last February so I know how Matthew must be feeling. I just came back from Josh's wake and I just want to say that the family gave a beautiful service. I was thinking of funny stories and pranks that the twins used to play on me when I lived with Ronalda and the kids when they were younger. The twins were about 5 or 6 and Josh put stickers all over my face while I was sleeping and I woke up to his giggles in the hall way. You would always see a smile on his face since he was little. Then I remember when Josh and Matt would mess with me and Josh would tell me he was Matt and Matt would tell me he was Josh. I grabbed a magic marker and put a J on Josh's hand and an M on Matthews. They would wash it off and keep messing with me so eventually I wrote a J and M on their backs so they wouldn't wash it off, lol. I also remember dancing in the living room with the twins and Summer to "I just want to fly" by Sugar Ray and laughing so hard we'd fall on the floor. I love all of you kids, I always have. You will be missed Joshy. I have so many memories and stories to remember. You made my heart so happy to see that smile of yours. I will be thinking of you forever and remember how much you made me laugh.

He was an amazing person and will always be missed & loved. He meant a lot to many people, whether it was a friend, a family member or an employee, it was everyone. I personally worked with him at dunkin donuts & had a few conversations with him out of work. He had a special affect on people& that feeling should never go away. I send love& hope to his family<3

To josh's family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with him at dunkin donuts and had the honor of training him. He instantly became part of the dunkies family. Josh was there for me through some tough times by just giving me hugs and doing whatever he could to make me smile. Him and I would fight with each other and annoy each other just to pass the time. People said that we acted like brother and sister and to me that's how it felt. I feel so blessed that I was able to be a part of his life which was cut way to short. His smileing face deffinetly impacted my life and I will always be greatful for that. Again im am so sorry for your loss but I know he is watching down on all of us.
