JOSHUA MATHEWS Obituary
MATHEWS, JOSHUA H. 25 - of Dennis Township, passed away suddenly on December 31, 2012. Josh attended Dennis Township Schools and Middle Township High School. He played basketball at the Dennis Township Rec and Middle Township High School. He was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, serving in the N.J. National Guard 1-114 Infantry Battalion of Woodbury. He enjoyed playing with his nephew Dylan. Josh always said "I lived life to the fullest with no regrets." Josh was predeceased by his grandparents, Howard and Betty Mathews and Raymond and Eleanor Capelli. He is survived by his mother â€" eres mi todo â€" Sandy Mathews, father Bud, sister Tiffany (Steve) Pastuck, nephew Dylan Pastuck, his dog Rayden, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Can´t believe it´s 10 years you´ve been gone. My son, Tanner, now plays football with your nephew, Aidan. I tell Tanner how tough of an athlete you were and how Aidan reminds me of you when we used to play ball. Miss you bro.

Josh, I've just checked my Facebook this morning and found out this news. You were a great friend and the funniest person I've ever met. It's such a shame that God has called you to be with him so early. I love you man and I'll never forget all the great times we've had together in the Army and out of it. My deepest condolences to your family and especially your nephew. I know how much you cared about him. Rest in peace brother.

So very sorry to read of your loss. His life has not gone by unnoticed by those who love him and by the God of all comfort, who numbers the hairs of head and who knows when even a small sparrow falls. My sincere condolences.

Today I was notified of this tragedy via FB.... josh it was a pleasure serving with you. You were always able to make me laugh, to hear of your death brings such sadness, but I know you would not want that. We will be strong for you brother the 114th will not be the same without you. I did not know Joshua but looking at the photo of him and reading the comments that were post about Joshua", he touched lives, served our country and the smile on his face shows that he had fun loving spirit. I hope that in time you find peace,comfort and strength with the loss of your love one.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Joshua H. Matthews our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Josh. And to Josh it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during Operation Iraqi Freedom while serving in the U.S. Army. Josh, you served with honor and distinction; we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
