Joyce Lee Gless

Joyce Gless, age 70, long time resident of Bethel, CT before moving to California last summer, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024. Joyce was born October 24th, 1954 in Panama, daughter of the late Roy John and Hilda (Botelho) Gless. Being in a military family, they moved around a few times before settling in Bridgeport, CT where she graduated from Central High School.

Joyce is survived by her brothers, Roy Alan (Bethel) and Mark Gless, and his wife Diane (Shelton). She will be deeply missed by her beloved nephews and niece: Roy John and his partner Karla, RJ, Joseph, Ryan and his partner Brianna, and Megan, along with her great-nephews and great-niece, Roy, Noah, Preston, and Abigail. Joyce was predeceased by her cherished sisters, Stacie and Kathleen Gless.

Joyce had various jobs throughout the years, most recently involving taking care of elders showing her kind hearted nature. She loved collecting Santa Claus decorations which she proudly displayed each year. Joyce also enjoyed animals as she had several cats throughout the years, going for walks, playing cards at holiday functions and being around family and friends. Last summer, her nephew, Roy John, and family took her on a cross country trip for a couple months on their way to relocating to California visiting with friends and seeing many sites along the way. I am sure one of her great joys of the move was meeting and spending time with her great-niece, Abigail.
