I had a special bond with my Aunt Julia that began in childhood and though I did not see her in her later years, the bond remained always. Uncle Jim and Aunt Julia felt like surrogate parents at various times in my youth. She made a lasting loving impression I will continue to carry with me for the remainder of my days.

As one long lost cousin, who did not see Pauline much these last twenty years or so, other than at the Peters Reunions, it is sad to see an era end. Pauline did her thing, and she did it well. She will always be remembered as one who cared for others and demonstrated her religious convictions with the way she lived life. It will always be her legacy. Too bad distance kept us apart as much as it did.

I am so sorry to hear of Julia's passing. She and all of Uncle Leamon and Aunt Dollie's children held a special place in Mom and Dad's hearts (Tracy and Ginnie). Mom is now 100 years old and unable to travel but we will hold you in our prayers, thoughts and hearts.

I will always remember my Aunt Julia's house with fond memories. I would stay there when my parents were out of town. I still remember the taste of the chocolate / peanut butter milk shakes Uncle Jim and her used to make for me. You will be missed. Love, Brian, Mary, Connor & Morgan.

One of our sons had the privilege of having Mrs. Kelly as a teacher at Living Word. He is now 33, married, and the father of 3. She was a lady in every sense of the word, so kind and compassionate. I am very thankful for the blessing of having known her. My deepest sympathy to her family.

We knew Julia for many years during the 70's and in 2001 we were privileged to be her pastors from 2001 -2008. We visited many times in her home and gave her rides to church etc. She would often host Christians in her home. She was one of the happiest Christians we have ever known. I never heard her say an unkind word about anyone and never heard a unkind word said about her. She was truly and example of how Christians should love and conduct themselves in the church and the world. She was a John 17 witness. May the Holy Spirit comfort you the family as we will see her again. Pastor Gary and Sandra Pickens - Living Word Christian Center pastors from 2001-2008.
