Karen Campbell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 21, 2024.
Karen Ann (Toon) Campbell, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sunset enthusiast, passed away peacefully surrounded by her three children after a valiant battle against breast cancer. Born in Defiance, Ohio, and raised in St.Petersburg, Florida, Karen later moved to Cape Cod, where she met her former spouse, Duncan Campbell, and raised their family. In her later years, Karen shared residences between her cherished Cape Cod and Florida.

Karen is survived by her three children, Jennifer Kerkado and husband Dennis, Krystle Muise and husband Kevin, and Donald Campbell and wife Erika, as well as her four adored grandchildren, Declan Campbell, Kaydence Muise, Kace Muise, and Capri Campbell. She also leaves behind her siblings, Steve, Jeannie, David, Tom, Kathy, Kevin, Timmy, and Julie Toon, along with 14 nieces and nephews. Karen was predeceased by her parents, Phillip Terrell Toon and Lois Kathryn (Beightol) Toon, and her brother Billy Toon.

Throughout her life, Karen was known for her joyful presence and radiant smile. Her love for family, friends, and fun was evident in her many passions, including singing, dancing, listening to live music, and playing pool. She had a special love for cheering on her children and grandchildren at sporting events and cherished her time spent boating. Karen's dedication to her family and friends was unwavering, and her love for the beauty of Cape Cod and Florida will be forever remembered.

Even though Karen has left us, her spirit lives on in the vibrant colors of a sunset and the warmth of the gentle ocean breeze. Her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will be forever cherished by those fortunate enough to have known and loved her.

In her own words, Karen shared, "I lived a great life. See you in the sunsets."

A Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 26th at the Pelham House. 14 Sea St. Dennis Port. Service 11-12 pm, Gathering 12-3.

I´ll miss a lot things about my friend Karen. I´ll miss her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, upbeat personality, dinners together, watching tv and movies, playing games etc..
I was blessed to have met Karen and for our years of friendship. I will think of Karen, as I always do, every time I drive by her old house on the corner of Race Lane and Mountwood Rd in the Mills. That´s where I first met her and I will still say hi Karen, I love and miss you so much. So Karen, It´s not goodbye, it´s until we meet again, keep smiling, laughing, and dancing. Rest in peace. Thank you for your friendship. I will never forget you. I love you,
Jackie
