Karen was kind, generous and beautiful. I had the privilege of growing up with her as a family friend. Her practical nature was a gift and she made me feel like I could grow up and be comfortable in my skin, no matter who told me otherwise. I give thanks for her presence in my life and know she is growing in another realm to places unseen.

Karen was my younger and youngest cousin, number nine in the family. We used to have a good time sitting together in church when we were growing up, and our families would eat together after church. She'd either come home with me for the afternoon or I would go home with her. She was the nearest person I had for a sister. We had many laughs together and I will miss her.
