LUKOWSKI, Karl Heinz Peacefully and unexpectedly in his sleep Karl Heinz departed on Thursday, November 21, 2002 at the age of 69. He will be sadly missed by his three daughters Barbara Hohenstein, Dolly Erbrecht (Bernd Erbrecht), Helga Galla (Steve Galla) and his dear son Norbert Lukowski (Suzanne Lukowski). Son of the late Andreas Lukowski and Brunislava Schwaig of Gelsenkirchen, Germany, where Karl was born on January 12, 1933. Also predeceased by his brother Stephan Schwaig and his loving wife of 40 years Anna Elizabeth Lukowski. Dear and loving grandfather of Andreas and Petra Hohenstein, Rebecca, Paige and Lisa Galla, William, Nicholas and Anna Marie Lukowski. Nieces, nephews and a great many friends from around the world will also sadly miss him. Karl will be remembered for his extraordinary building abilities and tributes. Karl, a learned carpenter from Germany, immigrated into Canada in 1956. Karl was known to be hard working, honest and a man who had many ideas, initiatives and aspirations. Through his hard work he established and owned the Zum Dorfkrug Restaurant with his wife Anna Lukowski. His friends and the German Community will miss him deeply and friends will remember him with great respect. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Sunday, November 24, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th, 10:00 a.m. at his cherished St. Albertus Pfarrgemeinde Church, 416 Parkdale Avenue in Ottawa. All are invited to celebrate Karl's life following the Service; there will be a reception at Gasthaus Zum Dorf-Krug. In Memoriam, donations to German Language School (Deutsche Sprachschule) care of Dr. Roy Engfield, 205 Lincoln Heights, Ottawa, ON K2B 5L7 (613) 828-9442 would be appreciated.
