Karole Seeley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 18, 2025.
Santa Fe - Karole Sue (Ellsworth) Seeley, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Brookdale Senior Living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Karole was born on August 28, 1936, to Sylvia (Snideman) and Harold "Fritz" Ellsworth in Lafayette, Indiana, where she was raised and lived through high school. She attended Jefferson High School, graduating class of 1954, where she met her future husband Tom. They were married later that year, and had quite an adventurous life, working and living in Indiana, Southern and Northern California, Ohio, Colorado, Indiana again, and finally New Mexico. Later in life, after being a full-time mother and raising two boys who were largely responsible for her prematurely gray hair, she returned to school and obtained her degree in Commercial Art at the University of Cincinnati. We were all quite proud. A very good golfer, a talent inherited from her father, she played in a number of leagues for a long time. She also worked for many years in the office of our family physician (back when there was such a thing), and also at Co-op Aircraft Service at the old Blue Ash airport in Cincinnati, where at one point our entire family worked there in various overlapping capacities, from running the operations to flight instruction. She and Tom traveled extensively, a lot of it by motorcycle, and they both had a fondness for Britain, the Isle of Man, pubs, and quality scotch. She was an avid reader, a trait that was successfully passed on to her sons, as was her love of music, although we never fully appreciated Barry White and the Love Orchestra as much as she did. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Charles Thomas Seeley of Santa Fe; two sons, Michael (and daughter-in-law Melissa) of Edgewood, NM, and Christopher (and daughter-in-law Susan Anderson) of Copper Hill, VA; two grandchildren, Benjamin (and spouse Megan Jenks) of Palmer, AK, and Evan (and soon-to-be spouse Morgan Beard) of Loveland, OH; and three great-grandchildren. Karole was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia and Harold Ellsworth. A private family memorial service has already been held.
