KATHLEEN JOAN ZOMBORY A Mass of Christian Burial for Kathleen Joan Zombory, age 73, of Chardon, will be 10 a.m., Saturday at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North St., Chardon. Mrs. Zombory passed away Wednesday evening at her residence in the presence of her beloved family. Born June 7, 1936, in Cleveland, OH, to the late James and Elizabeth Hlad. She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth's Catholic grade school and Marymount High School, Class of 1954, Valedictorian. She married Al Zombory on October 5, 1957 in Cleveland and the couple moved to Russell in 1966, where they began building their first home. Mrs. Zombory was a founding member of the Geauga County Hungarian Club, a previous long-time member of the Church of St. Anselm in Chesterland, and a current member of the Church of St. Mary in Chardon. While her daughters were growing up, she was both a working woman as well as a dedicated and involved Mother. Mrs. Zombory was an active volunteer with her daughters' activities and assisted with their 4-H projects. She will be remembered as having a knack for the art of organization and taught her daughters the same. Mrs. Zombory worked as a Secretary for many years, retiring from Lamson and Sessions of Beachwood in 2000. She is survived by her husband, Al, of Chardon; daughters, Beth (Tim) Kiley of Wyoming, OH and Christine Zombory-Metter of Beachwood; grandchildren, Patrick, Robert, and Katherine Kiley, Lindsey, Cassidy, Nicole and Anne Marie Metter; sister Carolyn (Jim) Balogh of Newbury and numerous cousins. Family will receive friends FROM 4 - 8 P.M. FRIDAY AT THE SAM RITONDARO FUNERAL HOME, 126 SOUTH ST., CHARDON. Burial will take place at Riverview Memorial Park in Russell Township.
