Kelli Divers Obituary

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of an extraordinary daughter, sister, and friend to many. Kelli Michelle Divers passed away in her sleep Monday night. Words will never do justice to describe the loss of this incredible, kind-hearted soul. May she rest peacefully in God's warm embrace, while those close to her impatiently wait to see her smile and hear her laughter once again.

Kelli is preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Elsie Dunlap. She is survived by her parents, David and Lorraine Divers; sister, Shanna Divers Flynn (Jason); nephews, Austin and Daniel Flynn; uncle and aunt, James "Jim" and Karen Dunlap; and cousins, Andrew, Justin and Kristen Dunlap.

The celebration of Kelli's life will be at 11am on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, 858 Kent Dairy Road, Alabaster, AL 35007. The family will host a visitation from 6pm until 8pm on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124.

Praying intently for the entire Divers family. Kelli became an unexpected but wholeheartedly welcome roommate of mine in New Orleans and so many of my great memories of my time here involve her laugh and smile. She lit up a room and had such a kind heart. I knew her for only a year but she will always be remembered as a source of great joy in all of our lives that she entered. I have no doubt that her good spirit will live in all of us that met her.

Lorraine and family, My heart became heavy immediately upon receiving Patti's phone call telling me of Kelli's passing. Please know that I and countless others share in your loss.
As much as I would like to attend the visitation and funeral, I will be out of town beginning Friday morning through Tuesday. A group of kids are depending on me the entire weekend,

Kelli came into our lives when we elected to place Chelsie at Our Lady of Sorrows School. There was never a time when a smile and hug wasn't given, and a beautiful feeling added to our day by Kelli. She grew to be a beautiful and caring young woman, and will always be remembered as such. Unfortunately, I did not keep up with Kelli much after high school, which is my loss. I have fond memories of her from high school. She was so kind and friendly to everyone and always had a smile on her face. I am praying for all who knew her and I am so sorry for your loss.
