TROY, Kan. - Kenneth Peden, 83, of Troy, passed away at his home.
Kenneth was born on July 19, 1924, in Wathena, Kan. to Joseph G. and Maude (Kerns) Peden.
Kenneth worked for Quaker Oats in St. Joseph.
He loved to fish the river and share his catch with his family and friends by hosting an annual fish fry each year. He loved his gardening, in which he took great pride.
Kenneth married Ruth Dubach on Nov. 22, 1945, in Troy, Kan.
She preceded him in death on Aug. 8, 2007.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Forrest, Lavern and Leroy.
Survivors include his four sons, Edward Peden and wife, Dianna of Topeka, Kan.; John Peden, and wife, Lucy; Dennis Peden and Mark Peden, all of Troy; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, at the Harman-Rhode Funeral Home in Troy. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery in Troy.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Troy or to the donor's choice.

We were saddened to hear of Kennehts passing. We really enjoyed his labor of love catching all the fish and sharing with the community. May God comfort you during your time of mourning. And the memories you have all shared last a life time.
