Kenneth Rock Obituary
1928 - 2022
Kenneth Rock, age 93, died peacefully in his home in New York City on April 9, 2022.
He was born June 19,1928 to Elizabeth and Julius Rock in Manhasset, NY, where he was raised. In 1950 he graduated from Yale University.
Ken had a wide range of interests including sports (Yankees, golf and bowling), the arts (investor in Broadway productions, attending the opera and served on the Board of Career Bridgers which supports young opera singers), and volunteering (taught at the English Speaking Union and Meals On Wheels). Additionally, Ken enjoyed dancing, was a world traveler, and was oftentimes able to complete the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle.
Ken is survived by his devoted children, Kenneth (Catherine) Rock Jr., Robert (Nancy) Rock and Betty (Steve Meretzky) Rock, as well as seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Kenneth was predeceased by his daughter Sally Cisco, son-in-law, Stephen Cisco, his brother Arthur Rock, and his wife Nona Fine Rock.
Services will be private. He will be laid to rest in St James, New York with his mother and maternal grandparents who had a farm nearby. Contributions may be made to the Community Reformed Church, 90 Plandome Road, Manhasset, NY 11030.
